If I find bugs that affect me or want to add features, I can tackle that myself and send them the patches. I’ve already done this to great extent with LibreOffice and Avogadro 2, plus some small contributions to other programs.

I've been working to create an Open Source solid-state molecular biology lab, everyone can help

In my country, a state-owned news outlet intentionally made up the translation of an interview with a Ukrainian civilian, to state that the Russian army had bombed their home. The untranslated words of the interviewed were in fact mentioning an attack by Ukrainian forces and defending the acts of the Russian soldiers in their region.

When I shared this with friends, “they’ve purposefully mistranslated an interview to a pro-Russian citizen”, they asked “Why would they defend Russians if they’re under attack by them?”. Whatever it’s going on here, it’s not a normal response to an ongoing war; there’s rampant media manipulation and censorship, and that’s worrying me.

I get Google recommends for Stranger Things after reading a post on it with Jerboa
How??? I haven't typed a word about it in my keyboard. Haven't watched the series either. How did they associate me with it at all?

@dessalines you’ve been hacked right?

I believe the article only refers to neutral networks. I’m trying to build what you’re referring to in your ideas, though ;)

Public restrooms and safe injection rooms are a good start; here it seems to work. Also, do people who are homeless by choice have the same behaviors or needs as the other two groups, statistically? That would be interesting to research…

Chrome OS has lower market share than Linux, wtf are they talking about?

Linux is a very heterogeneous platform. I’d say trying to make malware compatible across distros could be quite a challenge, and not very profitable.

It’s pretty nice that you distrust big pharma, but imo you should discuss your concerns with your doctor

I understand it’s easy to make a port in that way. But some Linux ports are straight up worse than running through Wine, so it’s also important that the devs put some effort beyond just clicking a button.

I have heard of plans to create a Fediverse Foundation though…

Honestly most developed countries have longer life expectancies than the US.

Weird, I can’t tap on the link to open it from Lemmur… I looked it up tho!

It is indeed major. The bi-weekly releases are considered ‘development’ releases, while these yearly releases that increment major version number are ‘stable’. They usually take longer to release and get bugfix releases later on, which don’t add the features of new development releases. They are intended for enterprise users or stable distros.
