I’ve been spending a lot of time on mobile due to medical reasons, and I can’t seem to find a straight answer as to which mobile browser is best; I use FF on my PC and currently on mobile as well, but I’m seeing people call Bromite better, and others recommend Mull or Fennec. I (unfortunately) haven’t been able to jailbreak my phone or anything out of fear of bricking my sole means of emergency contact, so I have a Galaxy S10 with as many bloatware features disabled as possible, but not any OS installed or anything, as much as I’d love to. I’m not as tech savvy as I’d like to be.

Apologies for the wall of text. I just really want to know what to use.

Firefox doesn’t have per-site process isolation. That info is from the dev of mull.

I’m not sure what info to take from that linked comment, sorry. I didn’t refer to madaidan or grapheneos.

WebRTC is obviously only a problem if you use it. I think I’ve never used WebRTC in an android browser.

The site isolation claims for the past 3 years are made by madaidan, and not u/subzer0carnage on reddit. To debunk your very own claim, let me cite the developer of Mull and DivestOS himself, from reddit, from 3 weeks ago.

“Site Isolation” on its own is nonsense that people need to stop parroting. When it comes to browsers you have per-site PROCESS and DATA isolation. On desktop:

  • Chromium by default has per-site process isolation
  • Chromium by default has no per-site data isolation
  • Firefox by default has per-site process isolation
  • Firefox by default has some per-site data isolation
    • In private browsing mode has strong per-site data isolation On Android:
  • Chromium by default has per-site process isolation
  • Chromium by default has no per-site data isolation
    • Bromite and Mulch enables strong per-site data isolation
  • Firefox has no per-site process isolation or Android isolateProcess usage
    • This is the big issue people usually mean
  • Firefox by default has little per-site data isolation
    • Mull enables strong per-site data isolation Useful sites:
  • https://privacytests.org/ Also because it isn’t obvious, Mull and Mulch are my projects.

Thx for the clarification. Maybe there was just a misunderstanding. I wrote site isolation but meant per-site process isolation in the first comment but added it in the following comment.
