That’s the main feature, i use friendica. I had a Twitter-Account for years… never used, because i always missed the context… That’s why i used facebook before the fediverse… because i need context and space to make short or even very long ansers… in one posting. That’s also, why i use friendica… looooooong answers… and images inside the text.

And yes… i didn’t say thank you to you and you work.

Lemmy is so cool.

And my part to make it better is to report bugs, if i find some…

Thank you so much, for your work!

First i see this and click to “Subscribe pending”

then i have to click “Subscribe”

and then, the subscription was successful.

but i was subscribed at all these communities before the upgrade.

I faced another thing…

Almost all of my joined communities are now not following, just pending…

I have to cancel the following-request and follow again. This happens after upgrade to 0.17.0

@dessalines@dessalines@lemmy.ml @nutomic@nutomic@lemmy.ml

here is answering in “Deutsch” not possible.

@dessalines@lemmy.ml And here, i tried to answer with setting “Deutsch” too, the same as just before:

and i geht this:

@dessalines@lemmy.ml And here, i tried to answer with setting “Deutsch” too, the same as just before:

(i changed now to English, that i can post this comment now)

This answer i made with setting “German” And here it workes.

The same setting on a comment in the same community, the same posting, but other answer works… this is strange.

This error happens in THIS comment-thread. Sometimes i can answer with “German” and then i’m not allowed

And searching for Peertube-Channels does not work any more. I created a bugreport https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/920

Here is the same. I can not create a comment, when setting for this comment is “Deutsch”. The errormessage on the server is:

@nutomic@lemmy.ml Here is the WARN-Message from lemmy-Container

This appeared exactly when i got the error-message in lemmi UI.

I’ve set “English” and “German” as Languages in Admin-Panel.

@nutomic@lemmy.ml here on THIS comment, i can not create a comment, using “Deutsch”. I get the error

Now i create it with “English” (look at the screenshot), and it works.

this comments are working in “Deutsch” again… in the same thread, as the complaining comment too…

Now i could reproduce it.

The errormessage was “Language not allowed” in the left down corner.

In the browser-console is maybe this:

Error: waitForElement timed out
    timeout moz-extension://f70e01a3-f559-457f-b29b-94679a9ff60e/content_script/mastodonInject.js:60

``` but i don't know.
And you see the spinner in the "Answer-Button" left under the comment-field. It does not come back. It stays spinning. So i hat do copy the comment, cancel the action and repost it again, choosing "english" as language instead of "Deutsch"
Oh, i tried it!
YES, it works <3
That is strange… tried to reproduce it too… no way.
Hallo @nutomic@lemmy.ml Hier in Deutsch
Oh… and another annoying thing…
I choose german as my first language. Writing a comment here, germsn is selected. Klicking on “Post” gived me an error for wrong language… an a spinning Button. No chance to change language and post it again. Clicking on cancle, deletes my comment…
Oh yes. This hapoened to me too, today.
This is just a workaround from lemmy, to support Mastodon… 🙏
And i tested federation with pleroma. This is a Posting in Pleroma in my lemmys testcommunity
and this comes in lemmy
It works, but not very good. “TEST von pleroma” is set as “Subject” in Pleroma, but it ist not recognized in Lemmy. Pleroma has a Subject. Mastodon not.
And embedding a Peertube-Video only by Link does not embed it. How to do this right?
I try to embed this peertube-video https://kino.schuerz.at/w/f55QaQatL9KJgkbCoRihq2
  • I can search for a peertube-user, but not follow
  • I can NOT find a peertube-channel by its handle. Wheter with ! nor with @
  • I can NOT find a Peertube-Video by url
i also recognized that. Did you filed a bugreport? Or should i do?
I think the following about #Chatcontroll: It will be realizes, because it’s not against child-abusement. It’s against climate-, and social activists. The near future will fuck us totally. And the mighty know, that we will be fucked. So they want to save them self. And the try is Chatcontroll to kill peoples resistence… Why is think, we are fucked soon?
  • climate change
  • moneysystem will break
  • socialsystem will break
  • energysystem will break
  • garbage all over the world
  • fascists take over in most countries (in case of many people are afraid of their future)
And the other part is… FOSS is not capitalistic… and capitalistic useable. Our fiatmoneysystem needs to grow, or it will die. So it will eat all of the free world… including FOSS… and die a little later. When everything is destroyed and fucked up.
It sounds dystopic? Our world, the human world, is a dystopia… I didn’t belief it… but when i look outside… there is no way out, than destroy it all… so many stupid people voting for far rights, climatechange deniers, antivaxxers and conspiracy narrative tellers… We (we as humans) are to slow to change our system. So our system will change us.
Should i say more? I think microsoft has won lastly over linux...
Create new Postings from Mastodon
Federation with Friendica works great now. The last days a lot of people came from twitter to fediverse... many of then to mastodon. I created a community [!askfedi@lemmy.schuerz.at](https://lemmy.schuerz.at/c/askfedi) for german speaking people for questions around the fediverse, to have a base for all that. And a mastodon-user, which asked for such a plattform is not able to create new postings. He can only receive new ones and vote and comment... Is creation from mastodon not implemented now? Maybe it's the same or similar problem as creation from friendica was?
Federation Friendica <-> Lemmy
It's great! Now (lemmy 0.16.3) i can also create a new entry in a lemmy-community i have joined from friendica. Thank you all devs for your work!!
I found this site, there you can bypass paywalls... what do you think about? Do i lose my Privacy frome one beast to only another one?
ntfy.sh | Send push notifications to your phone or desktop via PUT/POST
I found this a few days ago, and use it as alternative to #gotify(up) for notifications on my phone. I get notifications for SchildiChat (Matrix) and notifications from shell. for example notify me about finished backup from my servers. #ntfy has advantages over gotify. ntfy can send imagrs, audios, files and even click-events (open a link for example). and the dev is very good in support and fast. we solved together my Huawei p30, which kills all connections on activating and deactivating the screen (stupid huawei). So the notification works better than #gotifyup... Installation of Server is easy as fuck. Install deb-package and configure your webserver. Very, very good manuals on the Website. Once installed, the Same website is available with example links to your own installation. thumbs up!!
So wie auf Englisch gibts jetzt auch für den deutschsprachigen Raum eine Lemmy-Community wo wir "gute" Peertube-Instanzen community-getrieben sammeln und sortieren.
fedilink
Born as idea in peertubes matrix channel, i have created a new community to find, collect and sort peertube-instances drives by community to have a "list of "good" instances
Groups/Communities in Fediverse should work like rooms in [matrix]
Yesterday i watched a video about the new spaces in matrix and then i posted something in lemmy... and then i thought about the fediverse-group-discussion... And then i had the idea, that groups in fediverse should exactly work like rooms in matrix. public communities/groups/forums should be cloned to each instance, where users have joined this group. The updates between all the instances should work similar to git. private groups or communities should probably only be located on the owners instance. This could probably solve also the problem in lemmy, where older postings an comments are not fetched. i have to search for each posting an comment, to get them all... what do you think?
fedilink
there is a lot of Spam-crap in this community…
... are you sure, you want to have all this Spam-posting here?
Scuttlebutt
An only-selfhostable social media plattform, working primary offline on your device... It is pull-based not push-based. And it works in the same LAN/WLAN, or by bluetooth, or USB-Memory-Sticks... and for sure over the internet. Your Backup are your friends. You only need your e25519-secure key as your "Identity-Passport" to get all your data back, if you loose your device... Great thing! And it makes the "loud" Social Media noisy...
Auf meinem Lemmy gibt es eine neue deutschsprachige Community, die sich mit der Entwicklung der Städte und Dörfer in Hinblick auf die verkehrliche, architektonische und städtebauliche Sichtweise konzentriert, die im Umfeld von überbordendem #Autoverkehr, #Klimawandel und zunehmend menschenfeindlicher #Stadtgestaltung bewegt. Es sollen gute und schlechte Beispiele gezeigt und diskutiert werden, und Strategien wie man den #Umweltverbund aus #Rad, #Fußverkehr und #ÖffentlicherVerkehr stärken und so dem Trend entgegenwirken kann, der zunehmend die Städte und Dörfer umbringt.
