Stop Listening
They tell you that you're unskilled, even though learning how to do your job requires training. They tell you that you're uneducated, even though everyone has something to teach. They tell you that you're essential, but unaffordable. They tell you that you have a voice, but you should keep quiet. They tell you that your opinion matters, so long as it lines up with theirs. They tell you if you work hard, you'll have just as much as they have - but not yet, just keep working. They tell you that if you pray harder, you'll be blessed with prosperity - but not yet, just keep praying. And working. They tell you so many things; they want you to believe so many things. But mostly, they want you to believe one thing above all else - that you need them. You don't. ***Rise up.***

@i_must_destroy@lemmygrad.ml - I’m not sure I see what the advantage of doing this would be?

It wasn’t a name that they chose for themselves. It was a label given to them by Republicans.

It’s called ‘sheep-dogging’, and the dems are masters at it. The democratic party is where social movements are effectively nullified and dissipated.

Ah well, hope you enjoy it anyway! I’d be interested to learn what your new friend uses to give it ‘Puerto Rican flavor’! Cooking is allllllll about evolution! :D

Crazy busy at work, but I’m doing great. Thanks for asking!

Thankfully, the recipe is super easy. You’ve got it made, my friend! :)

Let me know how it turns out & what you think. I serve this with jasmine rice. :)

Your criticism is based upon an experience from ‘a few years ago’. Maybe give the latest build a try.

I really love the idea(s) behind Briar, and I’m excited to see how this critical piece of software evolves. Right now, what I’d like to see implemented most would be the ability to sync ‘accounts’ between different devices like my phone, PC, tablet, etc.

The Capitalist model of commodifying absolutely everything is abusive, pathological and destructive. We've got to stop this before it kills us.

I’ve never met a single person in my life who made more money on unemployment than their job gave them. Not sure how this is possible, given that the system is designed to only pay out a small percentage of the person’s previous salary. Granted, I don’t know everything, but…

I like it a lot. I honestly don’t give two shits about federation. The UI is attractive and logical and everything does what I want it to do. I wanted a Discord clone that was open source and doesn’t spy on me. Revolt is just that, and I love it.

I quite like Revolt Chat, an open source alternative to Discord with a very similar UI - https://revolt.chat/

No matter what any frothing-at-the-mouth, armchair ‘security expert’ tells you, it all boils down to your own personal threat assessment. If you are a journalist who’s about to blow the lid off a grand governmental plot, you’re going to need a lot more security than a regular schmuck who’s texting back and forth with his girlfriend about where they’re going to go for dinner Friday night. Don’t get me wrong - privacy IS very important, but FFS people…context is everything. Telegram is a great and private messaging app for most regular cases. The people screaming otherwise are usually just trying to redirect people over to their own pet project.
