They did not forget. They know. They just don’t care because they now serve in their interest. Don’t give them the luxury of being seen as a quirky, forgetting bunch of people because they know. After this, let them know about the time they openly supported Nazi’s and yelled fascist slogans in public.
I know they didn’t actually forget. The word “conveniently” implies that they intentionally forgot, in order to serve their interests.
