I live in germany and the headline would absolutely apply here. Patrol officers are always out in pairs of two, if there’s a lone one and they want something from you it’s very likely a scam. If someone tells you they’re a civil or investigative officer and but they don’t have their ID already at hand it’s very likely a scam.
This is not world news, not every shitty stupid little thing that happens in the US is world news.
