In what is probably the
worse best idea anyone on lemmy has had, I’m bringing
reddit silver,
blockchain, currency to lemmy!
# How it works:
1. Every user starts with 5 lemmy bucks upon account creation
2. Find someone worthy of your lemmy buck(s), and then you tell them you’re giving them X lemmy bucks
3. You post in this sublemmy: a. who the receiver is and b. how much you gave them.
This is the ledger

If you’d like to be a moderator, or otherwise help with lemmy buxs (there are actually lots of opportunities) let me know =]
Would a bot to take care of transactions and keep tally of everyones’ Lemmybucks be something that you would want, or do you prefer to have it handled manually?
Just asking because I wanted to make a Lemmy bot anyways and this seems like a good place to get started :)
A bot would be a lot better!
Alright, I will start looking into it then!
I’ll post again when there’s an update
Post that you’re making a bot to !lemmybucks@lemmy.ml to generate some hype. =p

Yes but can I get rich off of it before losing all my savings due to a Lithuanian exchange’s “technical difficulties” during the cashing out phase?
Or is it even less consequential than a Reddit gold?
It’s even less consequential than a Reddit gold, but we’re going to c/hodl (doesn’t exist) til we hit the c/moon (doesn’t exist) then buy a c/lambo (doesn’t exist) and then crash it because !fuck_cars@lemmy.ml
Oh yes, best to site the exchange in Japan, then spend a few decades deciding through courts who owns what and what they can nibble away at, maybe take huge bites of…

But it’s different than the initial reddit silver in the sense that there is only a limited supply of lemmy bucks in existence, so there is resource scarcity
So it’s worth billions is what you’re saying? Intrisically highly valubale cos of scarcity? i’m in!!!
