The warship sank while being towed a day after Ukraine claimed to have hit it with a missile.

Even the linked article is gloating, although they at least cited the russian version.

Who knows how it was, both versions are possible, though what missiles are those supposed to be? After all, this ship was 43 years old and the last 31 were not kind for russian navy which reached very low point in the meantime and only started to rebound in last few years with increase of military spendings - and there is always much easier to improve ground and air power than navy.
