Riiiiight. How do you explain all those bullet holes on the eastern part of the Berlin Wall? We’re a little far removed from then for you to cling to Soviet propaganda. There’s way too much testimony and the Stasi’s own files were released in the 90s. Are you going to tell me Saddam Hussein didn’t model his secret police on that brutal inhuman efficiency? Next, you’ll tell me Saddam was just misunderstood? What are you on?

So the where did the East Germans recruit their completely de-Nazi’d secret police? Pretty much everyone left in Germany at the end of WWII was in the party. The Soviets managed to create the foremost modern police state in East Germany from a blank slate? That’s pretty hard to believe. It’s entirely plausible and consistent that the SS that got caught behind the Iron Curtain cut a deal and suddenly became fervent communists.

Recall that Putin served in East Germany’s Stasi during the Cold War. Shoulder-to-shoulder with former Nazis, doing Nazi things. The guy is such relic that his his only response to opposition to his fascist failed state is to accuse them of fascism? That’s straight up projection.

The only thing falling apart is Russia’s economy. This is Putin’s swan song.

Putin’s actions, not words, have convinced me. No one has invaded Russia. Russia has invaded Ukraine. You cannot talk fast enough to change the facts.

You started by claiming this isn’t a “full scale invasion”, which if the goal is to “demilitarize” Ukraine will require that. Bolstering break-away provinces doesn’t require attacks on the capital. Russia has been using hybrid warfare in Ukraine since Crimea, but now this does begin to look like war and not some one-shot retaliatory strike.

Do you have any evidence that they poison underwear? Because Putin does.

It seems like a rolling advertisement to join NATO. “Got a kleptomaniac neighbor with a penchant for invasion? Call 1-800-GET-NATO today!” Internal tension in Russia must be pretty high in order to justify this cluster.

Poor Russia, even though they gave up communism for good old capitalism the nazis are still coming after them. What does it take to satisfy them? Poor little Russia! Now it has to invade other countries to protect itself!

In order to prove what? That Ukraine hasn’t been invaded by Russia? That the invasion doesn’t extent into the capital? You sure seem smug about something… but it seems like you’re nit picking in order suck up bandwidth from the truth of the matter.

Remember when Russian backed separatists shot down that airliner? Their defense was also “prove it”, “show me the evidence”, “the plane shot down itself”. Years later, we can see that this is simply a ploy to distract, distort and delay. These disingenuous tactics have become all too transparent.

The standard role call of disinformation, distortion, and denial. Weren’t you denying there were Russian troops on the border, just a few days ago?

Putin is the only one fearing NATO. After he saw what happened to Quaddafi.

I think you’re just too dim to understand. You brought race randomly into this. Now you cast NATO as some power to be feared. It’s a defensive pack. Russia casts it as a boogeyman to justify invading it’s neighbors. That would make you a Russian bootlicker.

They’ll surely love Russia after getting invaded a second time. If alignment or invasion are their choices, Russia is really pushing them into NATO.

It’s not a joint strategy, necessarily. Chinese, I suspect, are simply paid in social credits for displays of fervent nationalism. But it’s certainly cheap enough to pay a room of shills to repeat your talking points of the day. Even on remote outposts like lemmy. For a country with a weak economy and military like Russia, information war is the best bang for the buck.
