Enhanced in-camera VFX, new Path Tracer, Oodle and Bink, production-ready Pixel Streaming, and much more.

Is it only me who is annoyed by the semantic f… that Epic Games is making?

Storing the build on Github does not make the Engine free and open source.

¹. you have the source file for installing the engine. :)

I guess one could argue if signing up to see the source code makes it open source or not. But besides that Unreal Engine is a great example that open source software is not necessarily free software (as defined by FSF).

Wrong link or smth? I didnt see them mention source code on there. But theres this repo with no source code but filled with executables and binaries: https://github.com/JordyK8/UnrealEngine-release

Full source code is also available at https://github.com/EpicGames/UnrealEngine but they require you to link a Epic Games account with a Github account and agree to their EULA to access it. See this and this document for the full procedure.

lol

All about open source! Feel free to ask questions, and share news, and interesting stuff!
