So, I gave a try. lot of progress over there, skeuomorphism is finally gone.

There still some rough edges and bugs but definitely usable now, even in a vm with vesa driver, it is fast.

I might install it on bare metal, to see

Well, it’s always been fast. One of the lightest desktops while simultaneously having some of the fanciest effects.
Kind of why I’m still excited about its development, despite it not really fitting my workflow anymore.

Interesting, though, that you mention there being potentially less bugs. Those have been kind of a deal breaker for me in the past, too. Maybe I’ll use it on my secondary laptop, once my distro has packaged it.

It’s definitely in the usable space compared to previous releases and i might use it instead of xfce or lx if i need to go casual.

I am not yet convinced by its tiling mode though.

If this combined i3 tiling I’d probably make this my main driver. Nice to see development still plugging along. Ive been using terminology for quite some time now.

To be honest, if you are already using i3, i don’t see the point of Enlightenment. You’ll get frustrated quite fast by the slow workflow (nothing to do with performance).

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
