It’s an official GNU package, with a main goal of providing a framework for virtual communications, including audio/video calling and conferencing, text messaging, and file transfer. Being able to communicate online without compromising our software freedom or privacy has become a much larger issue since the coronavirus pandemic began last year, and Jami is an important step forward in solving these problems.
