Haiku Os, The Linux Alternative
thekernalblog.github.ioWhen you think of alternatives to Linux, you most likely are thinking of BSD, MacOS, or even Hurd. One such OS that people don’t recommend nearly as often is HaikuOS. HaikuOS is an amazing OS that is based off of the old now defunct BeOS. I am going to go over the instillation, hardware support, desktop, and package availability for HaikuOS.

Yeah this is more of a hobby os than a real alternative to linux. The work it has gone into it is amazing but unless you can compile software for it then its more something you would put on an old pc like the author of the article suggested

Just read about it, gcc8 is compatible so in theory you can port a lot of software to haiku
